New Ideas In The Works

Hi guys. This is an update to keep you posted with what's going on. You might have noticed that we haven't added many more reviews lately, that's just because we've got that up and running now and so we won't be adding to that for quite some time, we're talking months. No, we aren't getting lazy, we're just pushing ahead with other ideas that we've got planned. As usual, we don't want to mention what any of those ideas are right now but they are coming. We've been working on one for a few weeks now which we hope to get online by the end of the month. Until then, things might be pretty quite on Pixel-Bricks with the exception of adding new links to the homepage for buyers. Please bear with us, we're still here, just a bit quieter for the next few months. We're just digging up some treasure for you and we'll have it online soon enough.

Boys Toys.........And Clothes

I can think of a whole lot of reasons why anyone would want to wear the clothes of a policeman but why stop there? What about some armour, a holster, maybe even a flashlight to go with it? Believe it or not, all of these are easily accessible online. There's a website called LA Police Gear who sell Tactical Assault Gear. Even the name sends exciting shivers up my spine. For reasons unknown to me, the prospect of buying stuff from this website for myself is bringing a smile to my face; I'm sure it's the same for any man.

The website and shop was set up by real LA police officers and it should be noted that they don't just sell to people like me, they sell to actual police officers also as well as anyone else who wants to buy from them, male or female. I've certainly never come across anywhere that I can buy this range of items from before in terms of armed forces gear. They really do sell everything you can think of from shorts with utility pockets to laser range finders. The fact that they sell to police officers, military personnel and security professionals ensures you that, though it's all a lot of fun for someone like me, the things which they're selling are the genuine thing i.e. they do sell armour that's going to save your life. Like I said at the beginning, there's a whole lot of reasons why you might want to buy this kind of gear, some serious, some for fun. Either way, get yourself down to www.lapolicegear.com for the best website I've come across in a while.

Use Referrals To Earn Money Online

A great and easy way to earn money online is to get referrals. When I say 'easy' I don't mean that it requires no effort at all. The truth is that pretty much every way of making money online requires effort and the idea of a get rich quick scheme is unrealistic. Referrals work like this:

1. You sign up to a website.
2. They give you a website address to put anywhere you like on the internet.
3. Someone clicks on your link and it takes them to the website that you originally signed up to.
4. That person then also signs up to the website.
5. You get paid for referring that person.

Simple!

This sounds like no effort at all but the truth is that you need to get your referral link spread as much across the internet as possible. If you don't do this, it's unlikely that anyone will ever click on it and you won't ever get paid. So how do you do this? Well, first of all DON'T SPAM!!! Never just send an email out to someone with the link in it. You'll never get any clicks and you'll only annoy the person who you've spammed. Also, it's illegal to send spam email to anyone in the UK so there could be some serious consequences depending on who you send it to.

The best way to morally get your referral links around the internet is to join and participate in forums. Usually you can have a 'signature' on a forum which means that every time you make a post, it'll have some text beneath it every time. Most forums allow you to have links in your signature and this is where it's best to have your referral link. The more you participate in the forum, the more people will be likely to see and click on your links. The next best way is if you own a website yourself. Simply find the appropriate place to have the link and it should get some hits. Here's some of our referral links.

Streamline - Cheap Web Hosting
Sendit.com - DVD's With Free Delivery For UK & Ireland
PayToSurf - Get Paid To Browse The Internet

By signing up to these websites, you'll then be able to get your own referral links for them which you can then post on the internet and get referrals for yourself, who'll get their own referrals and they'll get theirs. Everybody wins!

ID Cards For Employees, Good Idea?

'The modern work environment' could mean anything these days. Companies exist from sole traders to multi-national corporations employing thousands of people worldwide. As a result of the numbers of staff a company could potentially employ, it is commonplace for ID cards to be in use. In a world where our identities seem to be scrutinized to the finest detail, are these ID cards really a good idea? Or are they just another way for us to feel more 'on display' than we would like to be?

Personally, I feel that ID cards inside or out of the work environment are perfectly acceptable. I'm sure there are many of you out there who might disagree and I'm sure there are many that agree, the fact is that, in this so called 'big brother' society that we live in, this is always going to be something that people have an opinion on. The way I see it is that perhaps we need to have a little more of our identity 'on show' in an environment such as the work place. An ID card for an employee can have a different effect on the individual to whom it belongs depending on exactly what kind of place it is that they work in. An employee of a large business which employs a great number of staff may be of the opinion that an ID card allows them to feel less like a cog in a machine and more unique. After all, what can we truly claim to be our own if not our identity.

OK, so it's just a piece of plastic. It's a very functional item without much of a 'wow factor'; but is this a bad thing? Like I said, it's functional. It has uses other than being an image of the owner with their name on it. An ID card could have a whole variety of information on it. Maybe, if you wanted to buy some id card printing systems you could print cards for an employee for example. You might just stick with their name and their image but think of the benefits of other information you could put on it. If someone is diabetic for example, this information could be on the ID card. If they we're to collapse at the work place, colleagues would have a good idea why by reading the ID card and may be able to help. I'm not trying to say that ID cards should definitely be used in the work place because they save lives, I'm just saying that they can be of benefit; if not for others then for the individual who uses it.

New Discount Available

If you buy some advertising space on our homepage for your referral links i.e. if your ad links to someone else's website but using a URL that gives credit to you for directing the visitor there, then you can input the following code in to Google Checkout when you make your purchase:

refjun

Doing this will deduct $5.00/£2.50 from the price. That's 50% off the price of a single advertising square. There is no minimum purchase amount to be able to use this code, old and new customers can use it and it can be used more than once. Now you can't say fairer than that. Be sure to get in soon, this code will only work for a limited time.

To clarify, when you buy space for your advert/link from us, you input the amount of squares you want your images to take up. You then click the 'Buy' button which will take you to Google Checkout. Here, you input your details for payment. (For those unused to buying online with Google Checkout, you should know that we never see any of your card details, we simply receive the money and get confirmation of your transaction so it's completely safe). You'll see a section at the bottom left of the screen where you can input a coupon code. Here, you input the code refjun and click 'apply'. The total cost is reduced and then just click the button to complete the transaction.

The Perfect Short Break

More often than not, if someone mentions a 'holiday', the first thing that you think of is sun, sand, sea, palm trees and plenty of sun cream. Sure, this is an idyllic setting for a holiday but hold on a second. It doesn't have to be a fortnight on a sunny beach to be a holiday. There is a little gem in the world that can promise a great time; the UK. This is where I'm from and I'm glad I am because there's so much to see and so many places to go for what is a relatively small country. The fact of the matter is that short breaks in the uk have much to offer.

If you haven't had a short break in the UK before then you should organise one. Summer is upon us so now is the best time to book a hotel and go somewhere that you've always wanted to go, though going even in mid-winter doesn't detract from the experience at all. There are so many types of things that you could do on a short break in the UK. My own personal idea of the perfect break in the UK is one of two things. The first would be staying in a hotel up north. While here, visiting the lake district to see some of the most stunning scenery in the UK would be a must-do. I've been there once as a child and I've wanted to go back ever since. The vistas from the tops of the mountains are inspiring and leave people of all ages with the wonderment of a child. If I was after more of a 'city break' then I would go to Durham. It's a very historic city so a visit to the castle and Durham cathedral would be top of my agenda. Some scenes of Harry Potter were filmed here and, as a fan, it would make the trip all the more perfect.

As for the south of the UK, that's where the adventure for me would really begin. I've never been down south and I've always wanted to go to London. My perfect short break would be to stay in London for up to a week. There's so much that I'd want to see and do. First stop would have to be Buckingham Palace; what would a trip to London be without seeing this? I'd also go on the giant ferris wheel that they have to get a real view of the city, as well as go to Madam Tussauds to see all of the famous people that I've always wanted to meet.

There are many things that I could describe as being my perfect short break in the UK because there's so much choice. Who needs palm trees when you've got the forests, mountains, lakes, fields, cities, history, culture and beauty of the UK waiting to be discovered.

Website Fix: Product Review Pages

You may have noticed that the 'Product Review' pages of Pixel-Bricks were displaying just plain wrongly for the past couple of days. Never fear though, we've found the problem that was causing it and we've fixed it. Doing this has been of benefit because, quite by chance, we noticed some coding errors that we had replicated on every review page. This tiny bit of code was having a massive effect on how the website looks. It basically knocked things out of place from where they should have been. The annoying thing about it was that the resulting errors meant that the website looked different in every web browser.

After working well in to the night (it's 2.58am as i write this), we've managed to get it sorted, along with all of the resulting problems that occurred because of the change. The only thing that we're aware of which is not quite as we'd like it to be is how the edges of the tables on the product review pages look when using Safari as your web browser. Luckily, it's still acceptable and we'll work on it at a later date. Right now, we're just glad to say that we've got it them all working now in a way that means as many people as possible can view them as they should be viewed.

We recommend using Firefox to browse the internet. It's fast, free and it's the safest and best looking browser available. Our whole website has been optimised to work best in Firefox; this is a growing trend, many web designers are doing it these days which means many websites will look best when using it so if you don't already have Firefox, get it now and bin those monstrosities that are Internet Explorer and Safari.

We've Joined PayPerPost - Even More Great Things Coming Your Way

Great news everybody. The range of subjects that I will be blogging about just got bigger. As you know, I already keep you updated on what's going on at www.pixel-bricks.com as well as letting you in on ways to make money online. Well now, I'll have even more to blog about. Don't worry, everything I write about will be something which you will be able to benefit from. The reason for this is that I'll now be blogging more about different companies, products, opportunities and services that you can use for various reasons whether that be to get yourself a bargain, discover something new that you'll love or find out something that you've been wanting for years.

So, how am I doing this? Well, I've joined PayPerPost. This is an excellent resource for bloggers like me. It allows us to connect with companies who want us to talk about the things that they have to offer you. As a result, I'll now be able to know exactly what's currently available in terms of what I think you'd like to hear about and so I'll be able to tell you about these things as soon as they happen. Essentially, PayPerPost allows me to get a message to you, the reader, directly from the companies that you want to hear from using these blog ads.

Because of this benefit of getting the information to you as it becomes available, I think PayPerPost is an excellent resource for us. This is the reason I signed up for it; I wanted our blog content to be as good as it can be with the most up-to-date information on a regular basis to make sure that you all have something great to read about. These PPP posts on top of the ones that I already write for you should mean that you'll have plenty to read and plenty of opportunities to take up. If you own a blog yourself, I recommend that you also sign up to PayPerPost. It'll certainly be something that aids you in getting better content for your own blog as well as getting paid to write about it. I found out about PayPerPost as I was looking around the internet for ways that people can earn money online. Little did I realise that I'd find something that I'd be so glad to find myself. The best thing about it is that ANYONE can set up their own blog for free these days. As long as you keep posting regularly on your own blog, you too will be able to sign up to PayPerPost and earn yourself some money for your efforts.

I'm personally just getting stuck in to the PPP community which seems welcoming, friendly and helpful. This way, I'll be able to learn how I can best get the message across to you, the readers. The other great thing that I've found is that, since I get paid for all of the posts that I write as a result of PPP, I'll now be able to use this as funds to go towards the upkeep of Pixel-Bricks, ensuring that you get the best website you can for as long as possible. I offer the information in this blog freely because it's the kind of blog that I always wanted to stumble upon before I made it and so I know how much it will help others such as yourself. Now, I'll be able to get paid for my efforts while keeping the information entirely free for you, the blog readers. What more could you ask for?

Check back regularly guys, this blog just got a whole lot more interesting!

Thanks For The Comments!

Hi guys. This is a quick thank you for once again making the effort to get in touch with us and tell us what you think of the new website's design. We're happy to say that EVERYONE who has contacted us about it has had only positive things to say. What more could we ask for? We're glad that you like it as much as we do.

The only issue anyone had was that they noticed that the links which are at the bottom of the web pages were not working for a few of the other pages. Thanks for pointing this out, we took a look, realised that there was a tiny error in the coding of the site and we've now put it right meaning everything works great. If you do find any errors on the website, please let us know, we'd appreciate it very much (still, we're confident that it's all 100% fine now)

So, thank you again and check back soon, we're going to be blogging often as usual.

Product Review Section Re-Designed

Following on from our news yesterday of a complete re-design, we've now also re-designed the product review pages. Due to the nature of each section being separate from the other, the main website and the product review section have been designed slightly differently. They aren't worlds apart though, there's a visual colour theme that subtly runs through the whole site.

As you know, the product review pages are very new and you could argue that it's too early for a re-design but to be honest, the design that we had up for the product review section was always intended to be a temporary fixture until we'd worked out the new design of the main section of Pixel-Bricks. Once we had done this, we were then able to adapt the product review section to flow better with the main site while standing on it's own as a completely individual entity.

So, that's the ENTIRE website re-designed now and we must say, we think that it's looking great. We always want to hear your comments on it so please feel free to contact us to tell us your thoughts, comments, questions or suggestions.

Pixel-Bricks.com Has Been Completely Re-Designed

MASSIVE news everyone. You may have noticed that there hasn't been much happening on Pixel-Bricks lately; we even put a hold on the product review section. Well now we can reveal why. As one of the many promised 'upgrades' to Pixel-Bricks, we've been hard at work completely stripping the old website design and re-building a brand new, stylish, smooth, shiny, dare we say sexy website. The new design is far more streamlined than the old one and is generally easier on the eye.

Don't get us wrong, we loved the old design and a lot of work went in to it but Pixel-Bricks is evolving at the minute and with all the other progressions and transformations, it seemed only right that the website should evolve also.

The new product review section hasn't been re-designed for the moment. Don't worry though, the design of the product review pages right now is only temporary until we've settled on exactly what we want it to look like. Keep an eye out for that. Anyway, please get in touch with us to tell us what you think of the new design. We hope you like it.

ALL PRICES PERMANENTLY SLASHED!!!

BIG NEWS. All prices on Pixel-Bricks have been PERMANENTLY reduced. It now costs only 5p (around 10c) per pixel. This is reduced from 25p (around 50c) per pixel. This isn't a sale, this is now the new 'standard price'. If you're one of our readers who have yet to buy yourself some life-time advertising space, now you've no excuse. This is an astounding price. Advertising doesn't get much cheaper than this.

Remember, you only pay ONCE for your advert on the Pixel-Bricks wall and it will remain there for the lifetime of the website. This isn't a monthly subscription price; the price you see is the only price you pay. This is just one of the new features that we've been planning along with the new product reviews section. There's many more surprises to come so be sure to check back often.

Writer's Share

Hi guys. We've been working hard on the new product review sections and all of our efforts are currently going in to that but don't worry, we haven't forgotten you, our loyal blog viewers. So, we've got a new way for you to earn money online while sharing your opinions.

Writers:Share
is the website we're focusing on. So, how do you get paid from them? Well, you need to sign up to their website. Once this is done, you look at their articles and review the ones that you want to review. If your review gets accepted then they'll pay you. Here's how it all works out.

They pay you £1 for every comment that they accept. When ever you submit a comment, their editors will review it. If they approve it then they will send you an email to confirm that you've qualified and you will receive the money in to your Paypal account. The money will usually reach your Paypal account by the following Friday. They claim that good writers can earn around £10 an hour which isn't bad at all in our opinion.

They pay you £1 per accepted comment until you have written 50 comments. After your 50th comment, they increase your pay rate to £1.50 per comment. To top it all off, once you make it to 500 comments, you get a bonus of £50. Clearly these are great pay rates with added bonuses and therefore this is something that we feel is an excellent find. This means that, once you've reached 500 comments, you'll have been paid £775.

So if, like us, you think that this opportunity is too good to miss out on then get yourself over to Writers:Share now and make yourself a nice little bit of cash.

We Hear You

Thanks to everyone who responded to our email request. We asked that if you have any comments about any part of Pixel-Bricks then you should email us and tell us. Well, you delivered and we've heard your comments. We're pleased to say that 99% were very positive comments and it makes us feel proud. We'll be going over your comments this week and seeing if there's any pattern running through them on things you'd like to see on Pixel-Bricks.

Thanks again guys and girls.

The Reviews Are Here!

Hi guys. Just a quick update to inform you of where we're at. We've now got the first three of the reviews online for our new 'Product Reviews' section, which you can access by clicking here. We've got many more on the way and it'll probably be a couple of weeks until we've got all of the ones on our list written and uploaded. As we've said previously, we've got a current list of around 20 things we're wanting to review at first but we aren't stopping at 20. When we near completion of the list we'll probably make up a new list of things that we're going to review to keep good, fresh content showing up on the website. Go check the new review section out now and see if there's anything there that will interest you.

Brand New Section To Pixel-Bricks - Product Reviews

The ball is finally rolling, people. We've now got a 'homepage' up for the new product reviews section of the website; the first stage in the expansion of Pixel-Bricks. You can check it out now by clicking here.

To clarify, we've called it our 'product review' section but it won't be limited to product reviews. As it says on the review homepage, we plan to include reviews, product information and specification, hints, tips and even recipes. We'll basically be adding things which we find of interest which we also think there is too little information about on the internet. At the time of writing this blog, we haven't got any 'reviews' uploaded to the site yet, we've just got the homepage up. Don't worry, we've got a list of things we're ready to review already (about 2o things to start with). We'll be putting these online over the next week or two so keep checking back regularly. Some of the things we plan to initially review may seem quite random and obscure but hey, it'll just make us stand out more.

Update: We've now got our first review written up and online. You can get to it by using the link we just mentioned.
